OCTOBER IN CORNWALL
THE IN-BETWEEN MONTH

October in Cornwall
October is that brilliant in-between month – the fun of summer has wound down, Christmas is still a little way off, and there’s time to enjoy a proper family adventure before the festive madness begins!
Cornwall is always a wonderful escape, but October makes it extra special. The roads are quieter, the walks are full of crunchy autumn leaves, cosy pubs are serving up warming lunches, and there are loads of exciting events for the whole family to enjoy.
And let’s not forget Halloween! From spooky trails and pumpkin picking to fright-night fun, Cornwall is bursting with ghoulish goings-on for kids (and grown-ups!) of all ages.
We can’t promise blazing sunshine, but we can promise you’ll never be short of things to see and do in Cornwall this October.
Beaches Made for Exploring
With the summer crowds gone and dog bans lifted, Cornwall’s beaches are ready for family adventures. Build driftwood forts, hunt for seashells, splash in the shallows, or simply enjoy a blustery walk together. Afterwards, warm up with hot chocolate in a beach café or a big plate of something hearty at a local pub. Feeling brave? The sea is said to be at its warmest in autumn – perfect for a dip if you don’t mind a little squeal as you jump in!
