WHY WE LOVE COVERACK!

If you are looking for a picturesque Cornish fishing village with a fabulous community and something to offer everyone, then you must discover Coverack located on the eastern side of the Lizard Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty, and the southern-most area of the country.  You will not be disappointed!

Coverack (Porthkovrek in Cornish, meaning cove of the stream) is one of those places holidaymakers dream of with its thatched cottages, crescent shaped sheltered beach in a delightful cove, sparkling blue water and
colourful fishing boats bringing in the day’s catch.

The beach here has plenty of sand at low tide and being sheltered makes it a great spot for windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding.   Historically this part of the coastline was notorious for shipwrecks at the Mannacles reef and Lowland Point, making the area popular for diving. The beach is dog friendly all year round.

Coverack beach is one of the few places in the world where the Earth’s crust, mantle, and Moho boundary between them can be seen.  The harbour was constructed in 1724 from the resulting local green serpentine.

Coverack is a thriving community and a packed programme of events is coordinated each year, including a charity Christmas Day swim which has been supported for more than 50 years!  With great places to eat, quaint shops to visit, water sports or lazing on the beach, walking the South West Coast Path, or just enjoying a pint of Tribute and a bag of chips on the harbour wall, you will love it here!

Have a look below for lots more information, and we look forward to welcoming you to our lovely part of the country soon.

"Friendly family run site, clean, quiet and situated 5 mins drive from Coverack. The recently renovated showers and toilets are great as is the new laundry and washing building. My children loved the play area and the pitches are spacious. Highly recommended."
"We’ve just returned from a great week at Little Trevothan. Good facilities, fab location and lovely quiet site. Kids loved the play area and football pitch! Owners very helpful and sorted problem quickly when we reported shower wasn’t draining. The site is a good size and not over crowded like some sites are. We will definitely be returning."
"Our first family camping trip has been a success at this lovely, clean, beautifully maintained site, even in the rain and wind. The children have been quick to make friends in the great play area and on the football pitch. The owners are so welcoming, too. Then yesterday morning, the new washing up room was opened. So smart, and in keeping with the fantastic bathrooms!! Pitches are a decent size and on level ground. We’ll be back!"
"We have recently returned from a fabulous 10 night stay at Little Trevothan. This campsite is a little bit of heaven on earth, lovely big pitches, excellent washroom facilities. We loved the access to a freezer which enabled us to have ice in our gin and tonics!! And to top it all unbroken sunshine. Can’t wait to come back in September. A big thank you to the owners for making us so welcome."
