COVERACK HARBOUR TO THE SOUTH WEST COAST PATH
Distance: Flexible (1 to 3 miles)
Terrain: Paved harbour paths leading to grassy, rocky coastal tracks
Off-Lead Friendly: In designated open coastal areas (keep leads handy near harbour walls and roads).
One of the easiest places to begin exploring is right here in Coverack. Joining sections of the South West Coast Path directly from the harbour offers sweeping views across Chynalls Point and out to sea.
It is an ideal warm-up walk featuring a mix of rocky shorelines, grassy cliffs, and woodland fringes. Autumn brings crisp air and brilliant coastal light, making it a peaceful route compared to the busy summer months.

COVERACK TO BLACK HEAD

Off-Lead Friendly: Yes, but keep dogs on leads around cliff edges and livestock
For a slightly longer trek, head east along the coast path from Coverack toward the dramatic headland of Black Head.
This stretch higes you an invigorating combination of open countryside, rugged cliffs, and expansive Atlantic Ocean views. Keep an eye on the water during Autumn, this season is ideal for spotting grey seals resting on the rocks below and migratory seabirds overhead.
- Safety Tip: This route passes through working farmland. Always keep your dog on a short lead near cliff edges and when crossing fields containing cattle or sheep.
