A FESTIVE GUIDE TO THE LIZARD PENINSULA

Experience the magical atmosphere of winter on the Lizard Peninsula.  From twinkling coastal villages and traditional harbour light displays to invigorating Atlantic walks and cosy pub fires, Coverack is one of Cornwall's best-kept festive secrets.

Whether you are planning a winter hoiday or visiting family nearby, this guide covers the best things to see, do and experience in and around Coverack this Christmas.

Highlights of Christmas in Coverack and The Lizard

COVERACK VILLAGE CHRISTMAS LIGHTS:

Watch the iconic stone harbour and Coverack Bay illuminate with festive reflections over the ocean.  A trusty band of local volunteers transform the village into a winter spectacle each year.  The annual light switch-on takes place on the first Saturday in December with songs from the children, food stalls, St Keverne Band playing Christmas tunes, and even a visit from the big man himself dressed in red.  A spectacle not to be missed and loved by all.

CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM:

Join the brave locals on the harbour in Coverack from midday for the annual Christmas Day Swim.  Held to raise funds for Cancer Research this fun event draws crowds from far and wide to join the festive celebrations.  Fancy dressed is totally encouraged and The Paris is always open for a much-needed glass of mulled wine!

WINTER COAST PATH WALKS:

Experience dramatic winter waves along the South Wests Coast Path before ducking into a warm cafe for hot chocolate.

FESTIVE LOCAL PUBS:

Enjoy seasonal menus, local ales, mulled wine and roaring log fires at traditional spots like The Paris Hotel and The Three Tuns.
